I am beyond excited to announce that a feature documentary I recently co-edited with director Michael Sladék of Plug Ugly Films (we also must shout out Room 5 Films as producers) about the rich history of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, America's oldest performing arts venue has been selected to premiere at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival.
Featuring appearances and performances and archival footage from the likes of Isabella Rossellini, Robert Wilson, Meredith Monk, Steve Reich, Mark Morris, Alan Rickman, Laurie Anderson, Chuck Davis, Peter Brook, Maggie Gyllenhaal, William Chrystie, the Berliner Ensemble, Hugh Jackman, The Living Theatre, Merce Cunningham and many more, the film surveys the rich history of the institution while painting a portrait of its present day operations. I like to describe it as half Frederick Wiseman institutional protrait and half Ken Burns probing history. I believe it's a truly special film and I hope everyone gets a chance to see it.
